With this sudden burst of cold weather and SNOW (holy crap!) in the Bay Area, it has made our house VERY cold. Chris and I have gotten pretty used to it now and just wear LOTS of layers and hide under one or two blankets at night while we watch TV. There is NO WORK done at night because it's too damn cold to even THINK about doing work.
In the morning it is THE WORST because I HATE getting out of the warm shower, but I have turned to Seinfeld for inspiration and cannot believe I didn't think if this sooner. As you may or may not know, I'm not religious, but if I was I would worship Seinfeld (and Curb Your Enthusiasm - I wrote a film paper on the autuer theory as applied to Larry David). Seinfeld can pretty much answer all the questions I have in life, and it has answered this one.
Kramer once refused to put on clothes that had not just come out of the dryer, or more famously a pizza oven, because he LOVED the feeling of warm clothes. So now, I pick out my clothes before my shower, put them in the dryer on a low setting, take my shower, and then run the 5 feet from the bathroom door to the dryerAnd throw on nice, toasty warm clothes, and I myself am nice and toasty warm for about 4 minutes. Then I'm back to being cold. But my oh my are those 4 minutes magical.

When my boys were small my mom would put their terry cloth robes in the dryer so they would be toasty after the bath.
It is amazing the wonders toasty warm towels and clothes have on a cold, shivering body :)
