Curtain Dates

I've had the fabric for A LOT of the window coverings in our house for a LONG time. I've also had a sewing machine that Chris got me for my birthday almost a year a half ago waiting patiently to be used. I didn't have clean, adequate space to use said sewing machine to work on said window coverings for quite some time, but now that my art room is nearly completely done, it's time to break out that machine and SEW SEW SEW.

I went to Ikea and picked up curtain rods for ALL of the windows in our house for just about $120 (score!) two or three weeks ago. And last week Chris and I worked on putting them up around the house

Putting the curtain rods up and LEVEL was actually a difficult task because a 90 year old house isn't exactly plumb and level anymore. So putting the rods up took a little bit longer than we anticipated.

After we got the rods up, my Grandma Peggy came over to help me sew on Sunday. My grandma taught me to sew when I was a wee tyke and we would have fun sewing parties together. One of my favorite traditions with her when I was little was deciding what I would be for Halloween, designing my costume with her and going to the fabric store and picking out all the fabric and sewing the costumes together. It was always a lot of fun.

So, curtain date #1 was sewing Sunday with Grandma Peggy. We had lots of fun, we sewed, gabbed, and got some curtains made.

Later that night with LOTS more curtains to make Chris and I had curtain date #2 in my art room while I sewed and he watched a movie

I've made some good progress (1/2 done on the office, 1/2 done on my art room, done with the kitchen and laundry room) but I've still got A LOT more. So I'll be sew sew sewing away for the next few days!
