Painting Machine

I have spent A LOT of time the last week over at my dad and Wendy's painting their downstairs. I wrote about my first go round here, but in the last 6 days I've painted 3 more rooms. So here they all go!

First, (the one I wrote about), the Living Room

3rd - the Family Room (the room where we also ripped out a fire place)

The TV will one day have a built in cabinet made for it to sit on top of and house all of its components. But becuase we're not there yet I didn't paint that wall because there's still work that needs to be done on it.

This room was the most difficlut of all. There was A LOT of trim and because the room is open to the hall and kitchen there were many questions about where to end the paint

All those cut-ins took me 4 HOURS! I don't normally use so much tape and cut-in without it (except on the bottom), but because it was hitting up against newly installed granite, newly refinished cabinets, and curved corners that needed to be straight, I didn't want to take my chances.

My dad's still unsure about what to do with that arch going into the kitchen. He was thinking some artwork (like a small mural or mosaic or something) might look cool, and I'm right there with him. But it will be a challenge to find something that works within those dimensions and fits the space well.

Phew! So that's all the painting! It's been lots of work, but completely rewarding because in just over a week the downstairs went from WHITE and boring to colorful and exciting :) Wendy still has to pick out the kitchen color, but after that we can check off the first floor painting off the to do list!
