The truth is, for a contantly moving, processing, and overworked head like mine I find working on patterns like this incredibly relaxing and soothing. It sounds completely ridiculous, I know, but it's true. It's like therapy for my brain. All my obsessive compulsive tendancies just get sucked up into this pattern and my brain is given a rest. I love it.
I've wondered for a while how these patterns would look off of shoes and onto a canvas. And the animal room needs some artwork on the wall across from the window so I thought what better opportunity than this to paint some fun, colorful, brain pleasing artwork.
I am NO WHERE near done with these as they are taking a lot longer than I thought (the progress on each canvas has taken me about 2-4 hours each), but I thought I'd give you a sneak peak of the 4 canvases I've been working on
Canvas 1
They make my brain so happy when I look at them. I love the patterns, the colors, the size, the new medium and method, and I can't WAIT for them to be finished and up in the room. Only another 50+ hours of painting to go! :)

They look amazing, the shoes and the artwork. What did you use to do it? I used to love drawing with fine point Sharpies but I haven't done that in a while. Looking forward to seeing the finished product and the finished animal room!
Love, love LOVE. You are very gifted. I understand the soothing repitition thing, I used to do needlepoint when I was a kid. Can't wait to see the finished canvases!
Live the third one -- I have something similar in my guest bedroom and it's soothing. Can't wait to see the rest. :-)
#1 and #3 are my favorites. I am lucky that I get to wear foot versions!
Thanks for all the encouragement everyone! I've been working on them A LOT lately, and it's making me more and more and more excited to see them all done, but it'll probably take a few weeks, so stay tuned!
