Holy Jebus We're Ready for Paint

After we had the drywall up it was time to get to mud, tape, and texture. I'm the mud and tape queen and Chris is the texture king, so we make a pretty good team. Which is great because our drywall skills are less than stellar.

I came home from an art day with my mom and my brother's fiancée a couple weekends back to Chris having finished the first layer of mud and tape. Awesome!

Then I got to it. Take the mud out of the bucket, mix it in the pan, spread it on the walls. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

Then more and more and more and more

Once I was done Chris came in to apply the texture

Then one day while I was fiddling around on other tasks, I turned around and saw, "Snap! Chris installed the window sill!"

And then last night while I was making invitations for my brother's fiancée's bridal shower Chris slapped on the primer (what an amazing boyfriend)

And after I got back from yoga and the primer had dried I broke out all the samples to test out some paint colors. I wanted a dirty, bluish, green, brown with maybe some hints of purple-y? As you can tell I was very focused on my color plan

You can tell which colors I like based on how much bigger the samples got

Of course no decision was made because it was 10:00 at night and it was dark as hell, but I was already getting excited about the color choices. This morning after I got back from the gym I was quite excited to run into the animal room to see how the colors were looking in the light of day (on two different walls)

I still want to wait a day or two to see how things change in different light because this room has only a west facing window and I'm a tad nervous about using a deeper color, but I think I have a clear favorite. Which one's yours?

Jesus, AS is green/blue? It looks brown on my monitor in the first picture.

Anyway, my choice is AS.

AS is a bluish brown. It may shown up browner on a monitor, but in person it's a gray/brown shade of blue.

As you can tell I'm very technical abut my color explanations :)

YAY for you! Progress!! I'm jealous :( On another note, I'm thinking Eggplant for my sitting room/library once we get those pesky stairs done. And I shouldn't be thinking about paint yet - we have a looooong way to go........

liking the eggplant! And it's never too early to think of those things (at least not to me!), that's what helps me stay motivated for the parts that are not so fun...

I'm liking Q or AS. AS is probably my #1 pick out of those two.
