Friday when I was beginning to do some work from home I was sitting on the floor alternating every 2 minutes so my legs didn't fall asleep so bad I'd have to amputate one of them. It was then that the computer HAD to go to the desk. I didn't care if that damn oil paint hadn't cured fully, I was sick of the pins and needles in my toes

I checked the desk, knocked on it with my fingernails to see if they made any indents: none. Phew! But in trying to hang my cube project (more on that later) the wrapper of some hardware did transfer over onto the desk

Pooh. Well, whadya gonna do? Moving on! I shut my computer down

(just in case you didn't believe me :) )
Then it was time to unplug, separate and organize

I don't know about you, but the cords behind my computer are always a hot mess. And I've got a ton of USB plugs for various cameras, hard drives, etc., so I have more cords than normal poking out of everywhere. I really wanted to try and keep things under control and not be super messy. So as I was putting things back together I kept like things together and attempted to keep the cords from getting all tangled

It took a bit longer than I expected because I was so frantic about those damn cords, but I think it looks good enough

My workspace is pretty awesome. I've got good desk space and I really enjoy having my actual computer tucked away behind my desk and the wall so it's out of the way

(I am in desperate need of a new mousepad This one is over 5 years old and is a 2006 Options Expiration Calendar that I designed when I interned at a financial services company. I know,
very exciting.)
I think my chair looks super awesome with the desk too (if I do say so myself)

It's pretty comfy too. The chair is a great height, and the seat is really comfortable (no sore butts here! :) ). I've been putting the workspace to good use the last few days. Having a room to do work separate from my art room is something I am super lucky to have. And it really makes me more productive. I know that "this is my workspace." And gazing around at some creativity here and there - my paintings, (errr, painting because still only one is done...), my cubes (more on that project in progress later), and my bobbleheads (though
of course I didn't make those, I find them quite entertaining) helps make this space productive
and fun.
I'm really digging it.

Love the curtains! Everything looks great, good job.
Thanks so much Sarah!!!! Now it's just all those finishing touches. Which will take me a while because I'm still not done with that second painting, and I've got another two to go...
