After coming up with the idea to make Cashew's blanket out of a modge podge off all of the A's blankets I have, I was very excited to get started :) I washed all of the blankets and then laid them out. I have 3 blankets and 1 snuggie (bahahahaha)
I really didn't do any sort of special planning, I just started cutting stuff out that I liked and made sure that because the blanket has two sides that the dimensions were about the same.
Side 1
Side 2
The next step was pretty simple, just pinning and sewing the pieces together
The black and green side was a little bit bigger than the green side
But I decided that I'd make a border for each side so I just made a bigger border on the side that was a little smaller. No big deal. And once I cut out all the pieces for the borders and sewed them to each side it was just a matter of sewing each side together
After 3 1/2 sides were sewn together I stopped and cut off all the extra pieces of fleece that were hanging off on the ends
After that because the blanket was inside out and I only sewed up 3 1/2 of the sides I just pushed it right side out through the hole
And then I sewed up the rest of the last edge and called it done!
Fabulous!
It's not my neatest or most professional sewing job ever, but I figure she's going to barf on it, drag it through the house all over the floor and probably nearly destroy it throughout the years, so it's alright. The most important part is that from an early age she has the proper sporting influence. When Chris came over to see how the project was going a couple nights ago he asked, "So, she's going to be an A's fan?" Uh, YEAH. To which he replied, "She could like the Dodgers." That response may have involved a big fat scoff from me and a response along the lines of, "The A's are much more important in my family than the Dodgers are in yours." LOL. I still can't believe I said that. It's pretty pathetic/hilarious. (And my step dad has been notified that he is not allowed to take her to more Giants games than A's games - he and my mom are Giants fans, blasphemy!)
Either way, it's ready and waiting to be moved into her room. Once her crib gets put together (it arrived yesterday!) and the chair gets recovered I can start finalizing all the placement of things and start organizing :)

Baby shower?????
Do you know that one of the things I was most nervous about when you and Chris visited was that you'd find out I'm a Giants fan?
Baby shower at an A's game at the end of April, hehehehehehehehe :)
Heather, it's okay, I won't hold it against you :)
Perfect!
Thanks Deb! My friend (and fellow lifelong A's fan) came over this afternoon and we shared our mutual love of it :) That sounds very vain of me...I promise I didn't mean it! :)
I always get upset when moving a lot (and various) of things to one room. Especially during summer cleaning when it's so hot. Anyways, go Giants!
