Growing up in the central Bay Area I am completely spoiled by weather. I get all cranky when it's below 55 and higher than 75. Yes, I know, I said I am completely spoiled. We have gotten a bit of a "cold weather" streak going here lately, which means that it's in the 30's at night, 40's in the morning and 50's by mid-day. There is even FROST on the windshield in the morning. I know, GASP. You would think by the way people are dressing that we lived in the Northwest Territories or something. The other day I was running errands for work wearing a t-shirt with a long-sleeve shirt over it. I was walking around and I was a little cold, but not unbearable. The other folks walking along the street were wearing parkas, gloves, scarves, and probably snow shoes, but I didn't check their feet. I checked the temperature when I got back in my car: 52. It was hilarious. I guess Chris should feel better because maybe my bones are preparing me for Michigan. Of course, I've got to get used to temperatures another 50 degrees colder than that...
In
actual cold places there is snow and frozen over lakes. What do we have? A partially frozen over bird bath
Oh California :)

I had to laugh. We live in Oakland too and can't stop complaining about the cold! I'm always cold anyway (being from Chicago), so me and my toddler are bundled up to the nines. So she and I are running around in our jackets and hats and I see a dad with his toddler, both in tees.
Congrats on the pregnancy! I've been reading your blog since you did the reno tour.
I live in Iowa, and among Iowans it's a point of pride to wear as few pieces of clothing as possible in the dead of winter. I've seen people out in shorts and t-shirts when the weather is below freezing, but I'm not that crazy. Personally it takes a lot to get me to wear more than just a hoodie and gloves, but I do put my kids in coats, hats, gloves and scarves, with snow pants and boots when there's snow on the ground.
Haha, love it Tonya! Normally I'm freezing too, so I'm not sure what has become of me :) Thanks and I'm glad you've kept reading!
Jessica - I have a friend that visited Rhode Island for a week in high school and she said the same thing: it was like 40 degrees and people were breaking out the shorts. That's just crazy talk :)
