Hello Zoe Rose Miller and Hey, We're in the Paper!

Hello blogging world, we've got a fun announcement: our wonderful daughter was born on Thursday evening at 7:12pm

Chris is a very proud papa

Our first picture with our daughter isn't the conventional mommy and daddy holding baby at bedside because we actually had a scare and needed to have an emergency-ish c-section, but she came out very healthy and happy. But we got our happy family photo in the recovery room, hooray!

And we already got to go home last night

Zoe and I are recovering great, though being basically confined to a bed isn't too much fun. However, there's not much I can do about it seeing as my insides were sliced open so I'm pretty sore. But I'll tell you, staring at your super cute boyfriend holding your super cute daughter, well.... there's really nothing better

Naturally, we'll be spending the next several days trying to get a handle on how to take care of her, so we won't be posting too often. Thank you so much for all of your well wishes throughout our entire pregnancy, when I got frustrated and as we were all waiting for her to make her belated arrival :) She was so so so so so  worth every bit of it. We love her so much.

AND! Today we were featured on the front page of the Home & Garden section of the SF Chronicle, bah!

Remember when a photographer came to our house about a month ago? Well, they were taking pictures for the article. I'm not going to lie, it's a totally awesome article and I love it. You can read it here, or if you live in the Bay Area, you should totally go buy a copy :)

It's been a pretty exciting last couple of days. Thank you for thinking about us, stopping over on this here blog and letting us share our lives with you. We're eternally thankful.

Saw the article this morning and was so happy to see someone renovating a house on famous Picardy Drive. Grew up in the area and going to see the Christmas lights was an annual thing. The first time I saw it I was 5 and I felt like I was in a magical land and instantly knew that those houses were not like the duplex we were living in on MacArthur Blvd. Picard Drive is special. Nice to see that the tradition continues.

Love your blog and all the contacts etc. I have been searching for a decent (meaning an interested company that wants your business and offers more than at Home Depot) glass company for a frameless shower enclosure. I will follow up with your recommendations. It's nice to see a young person really interested in doing the work themselves when they can. How utterly fantastic what you have done! What a gem!!

And congratulations on your new bundle of joy.

I picked a great time to start reading your blog, all inspired by the SF Chronicle. Congrats to joining the ranks of parenthood! My husband as a child always went to your neighborhood at xmas time and he still remembers it! My son and his bride to be are looking for a house in Napa to "redo" and live in and will also look forward to becoming parents. I can't wait to show them this blog, thanks for being so honest and real.

Congratulations!
My advice: Take pics AND video. My 4-yr-old LOVES to see video of herself as a baby!
