That’s right, our Little Football is a Little Lady. Despite a whopping 2/3rds of you fine folks thinking she was a boy 🙂 Like Zoe we actually “found out” she was a girl at our 13 week genetic testing appointment – but that’s not really a confirmed guess (though I asked our doctor what their percentage of being correct was and he said about 90%). We wanted to wait till the 20 week appointment to be more sure. Sooooo, we’ll be a double daughter household!

At first, I must admit I was a little disappointed. I thought it would be fun to have the experience of having both a boy and a girl. BUT, after about 3 seconds I was SUPER excited. A year ago I shared why I was so scared to have a girl, but let me tell you – it has been awesome. I LOVE getting the privilege of raising a bad ass little chick. I love getting to raise a lady that will be WHATEVER SHE WANTS TO BE. Not that that’s not fun when you have a boy (and I don’t actually know any better, because I don’t have a boy), but I feel like in our society there are more boundaries for girls to cross and defy. I want to raise 2 girls who love each other – and other women, support each other – and other women, learn whatever they want – and teach other women, create anything they want – and do the same for other women. And just be happy in who they are.

I love that Zoe loves football (he Raiders shirts are the only clothing she has so far demanded to wear). I love that she loves to color. I love that she loves to build things and tear them apart. I love that she loves to put on necklaces and purses. I love all the little things that make her HER. I can’t wait to see the wonderful things she will teach her sister. And the two women they will grow up to be.

I can’t wait to be a momma to TWO wonderful ass kicking women.
