I went out and bought a table on Wednesday, and by Friday I decided I was too excited to wait to refinish it. So I went to HD to get a couple colors of spray paint
I shared the colors on our Facebook page and asked which one people liked. It was pretty even across the board with me leaning towards Seaside and Dark Steel coming in second. Sandi pointed out the excellent idea that if I didn’t like Seaside, then Dark Steel would cover it. Win! Seaside it is!
I brought the table outside
And gave it a rough sanding with 220 just to scratch it up enough for the paint to stick to it
I probably should have primed it first, but I was being really lazy and just went straight at it with the paint and after 4 light coats it looked BEAUTIFUL
I let it sit outside for a day or so then brought it back into the house and put the glass back on the top. It went from this
To this
Much better.
Of course, this will have to sit in the front room until the bed is done and we can move Chris’ clothes from the dresser and into the bed drawers. But it’s nice to have it done.
And speaking of the bed, we stained the drawer fronts
They look delicious. But you want to know what idiots we are? We completely forgot to order the fronts for the two faux drawers, ha! We made such a big deal about the hardware, but then forgot about the actually fronts. Idiots. It’s not a big deal because they won’t need to be attached to drawer boxes, so it won’t really slow us down to have to order them now. It’s just comical and slightly annoying. Oh well 🙂
My goal is to get these 9 fronts poly’d this week. Can’t wait to see them all shiny and even more gorgeous.
